Job Description – Horticulture Chairperson

The Horticulture Committee Chairperson provides horticultural information and instruction to the members through announcements at meetings, workshops, and by information sent to the web manager for inclusion on the website. The chairperson keeps members informed of pertinent programs or courses available in the state or area and encourages members to share horticultural information and their experiences.

Horticulture Committee members submit monthly articles for the “Horticulture Tips” page on the EAGC website. At the general meetings, the horticulture chairperson or a committee member presents a short “Hort Moment” to the membership.

The chair is expected to attend as many board meetings as possible during the club year. The Horticulture committee budget is set by agreement between the board and the chair.

The Horticulture Committee Chairperson selects a person or persons on the committee to present an herb program or display for the membership at each monthly general meeting.

The chairperson is expected to attend as many board meetings as possible and to inform the board of any events or activities. Photos of events and monthly displays will be sent to the web manager for inclusion on the website. The budget of the Herb Committee is set by the board with input by the chairperson.
