Job Description – Horticulture Chairperson

The Horticulture Committee Chairperson provides horticultural information and instruction to the members through announcements at meetings, workshops, and by information sent to the web manager for inclusion on the website. The chairperson keeps members informed of pertinent programs or courses available in the state or area and encourages members to share horticultural information and their experiences.

Horticulture Committee members submit monthly articles for the “Horticulture Tips” page on the EAGC website. At the general meetings, the horticulture chairperson or a committee member presents a short “Hort Moment” to the membership. Also a committee member presents an herb program or display.

The chair is expected to attend as many board meetings as possible during the club year and to inform the board of any events or activities. Photos of events and monthly displays will be sent to the web manager for inclusion on the website. The Horticulture committee budget is set by agreement between the board and the chair.
