When I was visiting I could not get over how many plants were growing wild that we buy from greenhouses as house plants.
Take a look and I’ll bet you recognize them too. As it turns out, Costa Rica is a large exporter of both coffee and tropical plants. Oh, and bananas too.

Lovely flower ….
….. with a spiked pod.
Tiny orchid with unusual foliage.
Bright Orange Stalks
Umbrella Plant – they say folks pick them to use as umbrellas. I don’t know – the stems are filled with thorny looking spikes. Cool flower.
Odd Shaped Bloom
Amaryllis
Unusual Orchid
Hydrangeas grow wild in the cloud forest!
Red Orchid
Gigantic Succulents
Begonias gone wild. These were everywhere.
Tropical beauty.
Another red bloom. Most of the flowers I saw were red.
Looks like a fern, but it is actually a very tall tree top in the cloud forest that is fixing to open.
Beauty on the city streets.
Huge Burl Wood
Just a little something in a garden near the swimming pool!
Orchid Face – It has teeth!
Bananas Everywhere! They are not even native, but they sure like it in Costa Rica.

As I was saying… how beautiful.
Hope all our flowers are yawning, stretching and thinking about waking up next month. Inspiring.
