The Horticulture Committee Chairperson gives horticultural information and instruction to the members through announcements at meetings, workshops, and by information sent to the webmaster for inclusion on the website. The chairperson keeps members informed of pertinent programs or courses available in the state or area, and encourages members to share horticultural information and their experiences. Horticulture Committee members submit monthly articles for the EAGC website. At the general meetings, the Horticulture Chairperson or a Horticulture Committee member presents a short “Hort Moment” to the membership.
The chair is expected to attend as many board meetings as possible during the club year. The Horticulture Committee budget is set by agreement between the board and the chair.
